Pandora Hotel

Quiet enough to hear the cicadas. Old enough to feel inevitable.

A 16th-century estate in Val d'Orcia. Forty hectares, twenty-four suites, a chapel from 1567.

The estate

An estate, not a hotel.

Forty hectares of working olive grove and lemon orchard, fifteen minutes from Pienza by car. The 16th-century chapel at the south end was deconsecrated in 1908 and is now ours to use.

The reception terrace overlooks the entire Val d'Orcia. On a clear day you can see the medieval villages of Bagno Vignoni and Castiglione d'Orcia from the railing.

The wood oven · After lunch service

The kitchen

Wood-fired, mostly from the garden.

Our chef is from Pienza, the orchard is fifteen meters from the kitchen door, and the wood oven was here when we bought the property. Most of what you'll eat was picked, baked, or pressed within sight of the dining room.

Vegetarian and vegan tasting menus are not an afterthought. They're parallel menus designed by the same team.
